Kippers at Craster

Whilst demonstrating at Wisley RHS Spring Garden Show I managed to finish this painting of Craster Harbour which is famous for it’s kippers. You can see Dunstanburgh Castle in the background on this rugged Northumberland coast.

Exhibiting at the RHS Spring Garden show in Malvern

Last week I exhibited at the RHS Spring garden show at Malvern with Boffy Art Markets. Here’s my stand in the Wye hall. I enjoy demonstrating painting too whilst discussing my techniques and subject matter.

Preparing for Wisley RHS Garden Show

I am busy this week preparing for Wisley RHS Garden show, where I shall be exhibiting with Craft in Focus, a contemporary craft and design fair. I have been making some decoupaged framed prints using some of my designs. Wisley is on from the 28th April-2nd May.

The Malvern Hills

They have invited me to join their team of therapists. I shall be holding sessions such as Art for beginners and storytelling adventures for children […]

Garden by the sea

This is an intricate painting of a grapevine, birds and flowers which I imagine could flourish in a warm climate by the sea. The birds look a little bit exotic, a kind of very colourful pigeon!

Craster Harbour

Harbours are one of favourite subjects and this week I have just completed this painting of Craster harbour in Northumberland. I have included some fishing boats and I can still remember the smell of kippers. I think I shall have to incorporate Kippers into my next painting!

Painting Lindisfarne

Here I am painting Lindisfarne. I am working with gouache on paper and I have just added some pearlescent pigment to give the painting a little shimmer.

Lindisfarne

I have begun a new series of paintings based on the Northumberland coast. Here is the first painting of Lindisfarne. It is so atmospheric there and the skies are amazing!

Beach Huts and Boats

This week I have been working on a small painting in gouache on paper. I have always wanted a beach hut!
