Sometimes before I embark upon a large painting I will make a small study. In this painting based on Aesop’s Fable “The Hare and the Frogs”; I have tried to add a feeling of movement and flight into the composition. You can see the frogs leaping into the water, followed by the hares and behind them some galloping horses. The moral of the tale is that fears are often relative and can be exaggerated by our perceptions.
