I am currently working on a painting of Severnside South in Bewdley. It is a large painting in gouache and I have set the scene in spring. I want to add some more flowers in the foreground, perhaps daffodils and tulips; then develop the detail of the houses with bricks and tiles. The painting is taking shape but I still need to add depth of colour. The colour of the river is a king fisher turquoise green and although the clients didn’t want birds in the painting the greens of the river express the idea of a king fisher flying across the painting.
